Immunity-boosting golden milk with a twist
AYUBOWAN !i guys! I'm sure these days you must be seen many many immunity-boosting recipes. This is yet another one!
This recipe is inspired by a very traditional Indian beverage called turmeric milk. The golden colour comes from turmeric. I have heard in the past that inorder for curcumin in turmeric to absorb into the body; you must add pepper! So, in this recipe, I have added pepper to do that. And some other spices to enhance the taste as well as benefits.
A bit about the ingredients I have added in this recipe;
Turmeric has immunity-boosting properties,
Ginger also has many medicinal properties and amongst them is its immunity-boosting property.
You all know mint leaves helps with bloating and indigestion and Cinnamon is known to be packed with antioxidants and has anti-Inflammatory properties as well as it helps to reduce blood sugar levels.
Serves 1
Prep and cook time : 15 min
INGREDIENTS
1 cup of almond milk or regular milk
1 tsp of turmeric powder
1/2 tsp pepper powder
3-4 mint leaves crushed
1 tbsp of crushed ginger
1/2 tbsp raw honey
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 clove
METHOD
In a milk pot, add everything except for the raw honey ( we want to preserve benefits of raw honey as much as possible. Apparently it loses all its health benefits if you boil or heat honey and for the purpose of this beverage we must not heat up the honey)
Bring the milk to a boil while stirring gently.
Pour the beverage to a cup or a glass and add raw honey; stir.
Enjoy this drink at least twice a week !
