Strawberry frozen yoghurt

Strawberry frozen yoghurt

Would you believe me if I said this taste exactly like a frozen yoghurt you would purchase? but minus the refined sugars and processed fats?

You can easily freeze mango, banana, raspberries or even pineapple and replace strawberry in this recipe to get frozen yoghurt of any type of flavour!

Serving size: 1

Prep time: 5 min

Freezing time: overnight

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of chopped frozen strawberries

  • 2 tbsp of greek yoghurt frozen in a zip-lock bag

TIP: If using low-fat yoghurt or vegan yoghurt make sure to strain them using a muslin cloth overnight in the fridge. That way you get a thick textured yoghurt. No need to freeze the vegan and low-fat yoghurts.

  • 1 tbsp honey ( optional depending on the sweetness of the fruit you freeze)

METHOD

  • Once the strawberries and yoghurt are completely frozen add to a high-speed blender and blend until it creates a creamy frozen yoghurt.

  • Pour the frozen yoghurt mixture to a flat freezable container and freeze for further 15 min and then scoop out!

  • If not, it’s absolutely fine to blend the yoghurt and fruit and eat right away as well!

  • (Add the sweetener while blending if the fruit is tart.)

    • I have used non-frozen greek yoghurt and it has worked just as well.
