Low carb cheesy bread sticks
I love breadsticks, but i don't enjoy white flour as it makes me feel so heavy after I eat anything which is made with white flour. One of my followers on Instagram suggested me to make something with cauliflower. I thought if we can make pizza base with cauliflower, why not try making breadsticks? This is the basic version, next time I would be adding caramelized onions and probably taking the breadsticks to another level.
IF VEGAN : INSTEAD OF THE EGG ADD 1 FLAX EGG OR ADD 1 TSP OF BAKING POWDER AND BIT OF WATER TO MAKE THE BATTER.
INGREDIENTS
1.5 cups of cauliflower minced ( in a food processor)
1 cup of almond flour
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp of garlic power or onion powder
2-3 tsp of chilli flakes ( I like mine to have a kick)
2 tsp of oregano
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
PRE-HEAT oven 180c
METHOD
In a large bowl, simply mix everything except the cheese together until you form a thick batter.
Line a baking tray with a baking sheet and pour the batter.
Add cheese on top and bake in the oven for 30-40 min until cheese on top is golden and melty.
